Isauria, Honorias: Four High Commanders of the Honorian military have broken with the official line of the Council of High Commanders to issue a formal complaint to High Queen Meridia Kaltra-Desere Thermala regarding the new policies announced earlier this week governing the organization of the Gaivarvara. High Commanders Korrnis Dul-Sorele, Lord Dya; Ortholo Dul-Thermala, Lord Petna; Balthor Dul-Usella, Lord Okka; and Ilias Dul-Arthona, Lord Ellea, have all expressed their dissatisfaction with the new regime, which requires far more oversight from the Royal Household over the actions of the Gaivarvaran Lords and all of the Royal Guard forces posted within the Gaivarvara. This is a drastic departure from Isauria’s traditional hands-off approach to the Gaivarvara, leaving the vast territories under that designation in the hands of the Council of High Commanders and the appointed Gaivarvaran Lords.

Lord Ellea, who acts as the public spokesman of this small faction, spoke to the press after delivering the complaint to the Nerai Palace early this morning. “While the High Commanders will always appreciate increased investment in the Gaivarvara and its infrastructure, it has been and will always be the purview of the High Commanders and the Gaivarvaran Lords appointed by Her Majesty to oversee those investments and projects as they see fit,” Lord Ellea said. “The Gaivarvara is solely the concern of the Royal Guard, represented by these bodies; that is the agreement that was made between High Queen Tesbeli Sorele and the commanders who forged the Second Crown on her behalf, a compromise between both parties that remains in force today. We protest that Her Majesty the High Queen has chosen to dictate a new agreement without actually obtaining our agreement beforehand.”

High Queen Meridia also spoke with the press immediately after Lord Ellea’s delivery. “I take it very seriously when I learn that portions of the Royal Guard and the military as a whole are beginning to doubt my leadership,” she said. “However, I take it extremely poorly when I learn that these Royal Guardsmen, commanders and non, are more interested in maintaining their privileges than defending our nation. I have made no secret for the reasons behind my decision to reorganize, and I have involved the Council of High Commanders and the Gaivarvaran Lords in every step of the process thus far. I can say unequivocally that I have broad support within the Council and in the majority of the military—particularly the Sea Guard, which is even now gaining additional tools with which to defend our shores from enemies abroad—so I have no doubt that Lord Ellea and the faction he represents is in the minority.”

The High Queen added, “We survived our war with Togana solely because of foreign intervention and the World Alliance Supreme Court. The blindness of the court’s presiding judge does not change the fact that Togana could attack us with impunity, and was prevented from doing more damage than they did due to the Republic’s apparently-reluctant respect for international institutions. If there are men among the Royal Guard, or any branch of the Honorian military, who believe that their privileges are more important than defending this nation—which is not only their duty, I remind everyone, but the reason that they have been afforded these privileges in the first place—I intend for them to learn better.

“Otherwise, I intend for them to be shot.”

Lord Ellea, perhaps understandably, could not be reached for further comment.

Proventia, Columbia: Honorians and ex-Eurussians alike are taking heart as the latest news from the Duchy of Columbia makes the rounds. According to reports delivered to Proventia House early this morning, Columbian efforts to attract educated and motivated refugees from the war-torn areas of the former Empire of Eurussia have begun to bear fruit. This is in stark contrast to the immigration figures provided by the Crowns of Honorias and the Gaivarvara, whose authorities acknowledge that foreign migrants are not likely to be attracted to a nation with “little to offer but bad press” in the aftermath of the Huperzian War, in the words of one such official who asked to remain anonymous. While the Duchy of Columbia did take part in that war, which concluded with the enforcement of peace by the World Alliance Supreme Court and various other international observers, it was far less affected either by the conflict or the attention of the world than Honorias. Furthermore, the Duchy, a former Eurussian possession, retains the amenities and luxuries for which that nation was famous, further attracting international visitors and investors, as well as immigrants, far in excess of the number of people visiting the nearby Crownlands, which were until very recently unknown to the World Alliance.


Attracting educated immigrants to the Duchy is a key part of High Queen Meridia Kaltra-Desere Thermala’s long-term plans for Columbia as well as the Crowns. In the aftermath of the Huperzian War, High Queen Meridia has focused all of the nation’s energy on efforts to modernize and fill out the Honorian military, and has furthermore called on her new vassal and ally, Duke Michael, to provide technological insights that were available to the Empire of Eurussia and might now be acquired, or at least copied, by the Crowns. The High Queen has stated her intention to reform education in the Crowns to produce the scientists and researchers necessary to develop new technologies for the Honorian military, but in the meantime, the Royal Household is left to encourage scientists and developers abroad to make new homes for themselves under the High Queen’s authority. The Duchy of Columbia is a much more likely destination for foreign travelers than the Crownlands, and High Queen Meridia has pinned a great deal of hope on Duke Michael to provide the technological expertise that her military will need to properly protect her realms—both the Crownlands and the Duchy—as well as the continent of Olympia from outside aggression.


In the process of attracting foreign immigration from the educated classes, Duke Michael has also reestablished some of his former connections with nobility in several areas of the former Eurussian Empire. These additional sources of information could lead to valuable insights in the weeks and months to come, but for the moment they remain simply a window into a nation that until very recently all but ruled the world, and has since fallen into chaos. Some of the available information, such as the attempts to establish local rule in various Eurussian cities and the violence enveloping entire swathes of formerly-Imperial territory, has only strengthened the resolve of both the Duke and the High Queen to prepare for a spreading disaster. As Duke Michael told the Word last week, “The Duchy of Columbia is not alone. It is one territory of many that answered to Empress Elizabeth in spirit and Chancellor Putin in practice. Duchies such as this one litter the world, and in every one of them now, there are questions to be asked and answered. It is my hope that the Crowns of Honorias and the Gaivarvara will answer those questions for Columbia, and there is every chance that they may one day answer those questions for other former Imperial territories as well.”

High Queen Meridia echoed the sentiment earlier today: “Eurussian problems are the world’s problems. It is now up to us, those nations still standing, to solve those problems in Eurussia’s absence. Honorias will do its part.”

Sardeis, Honorias: Officials in the southeastern stretches of the First Crown have announced the arrest of five men in connection with a plot to disrupt the ongoing militarization efforts and undermine the authority of the High Clans and the High Queen. The Royal Guard garrison in Sardeis, commanded by Colonel Adros Dul-Storenna, successfully apprehended both the traitors, whose names have yet to be released as the investigation continues, and a large amount of evidence that proves their sinister intentions. Additional arrests are expected in connection with this plot, according to authorities.


Specifics about the plot’s intentions are not yet available, sparking questions as to whether or not the plot was fully formed or still in its earliest planning stages when it was uncovered. However, the Word is aware that the plot’s overarching goals included disrupting the military and industrial production of Sardeis, which has long acted as a staging ground and supply depot for Honorian forces campaigning in the southern Median Desert, as well as causing the death of various clanswomen and clansmen including Namisa Dya-Eorda Storenna and her husband Colonel Adros Dul-Storenna. The Word also understands that the would-be perpetrators planned to spread their designs to other cities and towns in Honorias, including Isauria, if they met with success in Sardeis.


While details about the plot’s intended execution remain unknown, the Royal Guard has revealed the slight justifications upheld by its plotters to be based on ideas common to many nations throughout the World Alliance, but foreign to Honorias itself. “These men developed a collection of ideas from their minimal exposure to foreign culture,” Colonel Dul-Storenna told the media today. “It is not particularly coherent, but the most important elements of this ideological view appear to revolve around equality and egalitarianism on one side, and patriarchy on the other.”

With some notable exceptions, the international consensus on sex relations tends to favor the male over the female, often citing masculine strength and fighting spirit as justification to lead, and as a reason for self-preserving women to give way before the claims of their more-violent men. Among many nations, the newer idea of equality—either among men alone, or among all people—has also gained strength in recent generations, as the presence of various democracies and so-called ‘constitutional’ monarchies attests. These ideas are ideologically incompatible with the government and social hierarchy of the Crowns, which favor female leadership at home as a result of male Honorians’ long absences while on campaign, and enshrine the authority of the High Clans over the nation in acknowledgment of the contributions provided by those extended families for the defense and wellbeing of the Crowns and all those who live in them. In the past, ideological differences between nations have been known to lead to violent conflict. However, High Queen Meridia Kaltra-Desere Thermala has made every effort to develop friendships with nations of every political spectrum, and can boast an alliance with a constitutional monarchy in the form of the Ravenholm Empire while at the same time maintaining friendly business arrangements with democratic federations such as Snarfia. The High Queen’s pragmatism is intended to allow Honorias to choose its allies and enemies based on the safety they can provide, and the threat they pose to, the Crowns. Today’s arrests are proof that not everyone agrees with the High Queen’s opinion, and are willing to fight to either change her mind or establish a new High Queen in her place.


High Queen Meridia has responded to this threat, as with other dissenting voices to the new policy, with calm as well as steel. Speaking personally to the media today, the High Queen said, “The Huperzian War taught us all just how the world views our right to self-defense. I hardly need to remind the Honorian people that we were struck almost with impunity by the missiles of the enemy, while the World Alliance Supreme Court turned against us after assembling at our own behest. An international judgment declared outright that the Toganan government negotiated in bad faith with our ambassadors, only to demand that we accept blame for the conflict and drain our coffers to pay this government of liars hundreds of millions in World Alliance currency. I will not allow my people to accept this degrading treatment again. It boggles the mind why any of my people should fail to agree with me in this matter.

“Of course,” the High Queen added, “these traitors in particular would have preferred to see foreign enemies marching through Honorian streets. Their xenophilia might have been satisfied in such a case, but we can only imagine what other sufferings they might have found as inhabitants of a conquered state. Their treason is a product of severe shortsightedness, and I call on anyone who might share this idiotic opinion to rethink their foolishness while they still have the chance.”

This call comes too late for the traitors who have already been detained by the Royal Guard. Colonel Dul-Storenna has already confirmed that these men will be transferred within two weeks to newly-constructed research centers in the expansion areas of the Duchy of Columbia, where foreign researchers attracted to the Duchy by Duke Michael Orlov have begun to develop technologies and other beneficial products as part of High Queen Meridia’s militarization program. “If they will not support their nation willingly, then their very existence will be made beneficial to our future defense,” the colonel said to the press. “Regardless of how, these traitors will be made useful for the preservation and security of the people and state they had hoped to overthrow.”

Just recently in a government address, Emperor Morikeli Shen announced intentions to absorb the peninsula just east of the Sonean territory. The tribes within the area voted for the decision with the exception that they remain a semi-autonomous region. Military forces are already scouting the area for posts and potential sites for future developments.

Proventia, Duchy of Columbia: In his first international address since bringing the Duchy of Columbia under the protection of the Crowns of Honorias and the Gaivarvara, Duke Michael Orlov called on the Duchy of Gibraltar, like Columbia a former possession of the late Empire of Eurussia, to accept the overlordship of High Queen Meridia Kaltra-Desere Thermala and enter into the protection of the Crowns. Directing his remarks to the existing government of Gibraltar, Duke Michael said, “We have been in discussions with your organization for many weeks now, and you have seen the impressive gains that Columbia has made in the past several months under the flag of the Crowns. Yet I am frustrated to learn that you do not see the opportunities Columbia demonstrates, but instead look on our successes with fear. You are not incapable of duplicating these feats, if only you see the opportunity I present on behalf of the High Queen!”

And to Albert Volkov, who was appointed Duke of Gibraltar by Empress Elizabeth only weeks prior to the collapse of the Eurussian Empire, Duke Michael said, “I ask only that you are not blind to the benefits of joining under the banner of the Crowns, and the untold dangers of standing against the world alone—or worse, maintaining your trust in and loyalty toward a monarch and a bureaucracy that have long since abandoned their responsibilities and possessions.”


Rumors of discussions between the two former Eurussian possessions first surfaced last week, and neither Duchy has previously confirmed that any such talks were being held. Interestingly enough, Isauria has also remained officially silent on the matter, with even anonymous sources within the Nerai Palace refusing to divulge any information on the negotiations that might have come to High Queen Meridia. Thus, Duke Michael’s sudden public appeal has raised eyebrows throughout Columbia and the Crownlands. When asked why he had broken the secrecy of the matter in this way, the Duke answered, “I would much prefer to speak directly with a peer than speak through the medium of the press, of course. For some reason, however, His Excellency has ceased to preside over these discussions in person, and his replacements at the table are less keen on progress. It is my hope that this public revelation will make the people of Gibraltar more eager to join with their brethren in Columbia to fully enjoy the security of flying the Honorian standard.”

As for Honorias itself, the Royal Household has since released its own statement in support of Duke Michael’s aims with his ducal colleague across the Huperzian Sea, saying in part, “The Crowns of Honorias and the Gaivarvara stand ready to provide aid and succor to any people within our reach that may desire a more active and protective government. Honorias will not fail those who desire its aid, as the Duchy of Columbia has already learned to its immense satisfaction. We encourage our friends of Gibraltar to hearken to Duke Michael’s words, and we await the decision of the Duchy with heightened anticipation.”

Hercules Rock, Gibraltar: A gathering of leading diplomats and ministers representing the government of the Duchy of Gibraltar unanimously agreed today to put an end to ongoing discussions regarding a union with the Crowns of Honorias and the Gaivarvara. The announcement comes only days after the discussions first became known to the public, after Duke Michael Orlov of Columbia pled for continued negotiations in the midst of an apparent stall. Today’s action would appear to eliminate any hope of pursuing the experiment.

“The values of Gibraltar do not align with those of Honorias,” Gibraltarian official David Nott said on behalf of the Duchy’s gathered leaders. “The Crowns themselves have acknowledged a lack of understanding or concern regarding the democratic principles that form the bedrock of any constitutional monarchy. Gibraltar has long been a possession of the Eurussian Empire, loyal to our Empress and our elected Chancellor in equal measure; but we have always valued the knowledge that our laws are written by those whose power arises from the consent of the governed.”


The Gibraltarian leaders claimed to maintain their loyalty to the Eurussian Crown, in spirit if not in fact. In the absence of true Eurussian authority, however, Mr. Nott admitted that sacrifices had already been made to preserve as many of Gibraltar’s traditions and values as possible while simultaneously maintaining de facto independence. “The Duchy was never meant to stand on its own,” Mr. Nott said. “Changes must be made to ensure that it can.” However, the Gibraltarian leaders have certainly ruled out the possibility of bowing to a superior authority, save for a reconstituted Eurussian Empire. With particular attention to Honorias, the Gibraltarian leaders point to the fundamental changes that have transformed the Duchy of Columbia from a typical Eurussian outpost into, in Mr. Nott’s words, “Michael Orlov’s personal playhouse.” He told the media, “We will not follow Columbia’s example and purge every democratic aspect from our society. We are better than that.”


Duke Michael was quick to respond to the Gibraltarians’ announcement, as well as the personal affront directed toward himself. “A collection of flunkies and businessmen has just had the gall to appeal to democratic principles in the midst of a declaration they made without bothering to consult the opinions of the people of Gibraltar, or anyone else for that matter,” the Duke said in a statement to the Columbian press. “The number of men and women among that group that was elected to office by the Gibraltarians can be counted on a single hand. Rather, we see a gathering of appointees and moneylenders who claim to speak for the Duchy—just as we experienced for ourselves here in Columbia, before High Queen Meridia excised the corruption and freed our Duchy from its chains. Certainly it is that, more than any democratic scruples, that has prompted these false ‘ministers’ of Gibraltar to reject the welcome of the Crowns.”

The Duke also drew attention to a notable absence in the group. “What gathering of ‘traditionalists’ and Eurussian devotees could be complete without the representative of the monarch in its midst?” he asked. “His Excellency the Duke was personally appointed by Her Imperial Majesty upon the extinction of the previous ducal line. What better representative of Eurussian tradition in Gibraltar can be found? And what could Duke Albert’s obvious absence from this collection of bureaucrats reveal about the true nature of their concerns?”


The Royal Household of the Crowns released its own statement expressing its disappointment in the Gibraltarians’ decision. The statement concludes, “We can only hope that the good example of the Duchy of Columbia—safe, secure, and profitable for its people and its rulers—will persuade the people of Gibraltar to reconsider their current state in the future.”

Queen Livia Maximus I announced to the nation that all communications are now back online. The prolonged blackout was a precautionary measure to test New Rhodinia's integrity if news/radio stations and internet services went down. The populace managed to remain civil, but some across the nation are still peeved over not being able to browse internet forum boards for more than two weeks.

In addition, Queen Livia Maximus I has announced a new expansion plan, now centered on the southern grasslands and coastline. The reasoning behind it? A continuation of Livia Maximus' plan to improve international relations by establishing easier to access ports. Scientists are also eager to utilize the eastern mountain range border with the Naevius Desert. Arcestium's introduction to the market has been slow to grow, so the addition of new land to experiment with its applications will prove to be a nice boost to the material's name.

Lily Flees to Saint Petersburg (Vodkaland)




The Military Coup led by former socialist president Sen Johns ousted Lily De Mele.



Lily De Mele was then kidnapped and put on a pirate ship in the middle of the ocean. When Lily De Mele was woken the pirates feeling bad for her decided to leave her in Saint Petersburg where she is in exile.

It was reported after she talked to government officials whom agreed to join with Teddyland.
